Quadrilogy, or maybe a Quintilgy, or more?2010-09-081 / 5
This whole story has turned into a disaster. I feel sorry for this guy. He thought he could both re-write and "Out-Tolkien" Tolkien, and it's never going to work. He also thought he could "do it" in 3 volumes, now 4; now maybe 5, or this will never end?

His re-write of LOTR is laughable. Eragon and Arya sounds suspiciously like Aragorn & Arwen. Same end result, I'll bet. Brom is Gandalf! Duhhh! Galbatorix is Sauron, gosh, I never coulda guessed; the Dwarves are Dwarves, the Elves are Elves, and believe it or not, the Men are still Men (I include Women, too)! Paolini's city of Melian on his map is another example: Melian, of course, was the Maia who was the wife of Thingol in "The Silmarillion". Then, you put in his totally laughable plagiarism of the most famous line in the "Treasure of Sierra Madre" movie. And on and on . . .

What you got is a guy with basically no originality whatsoever. What's next . . . a re-write of The Silmarillion? I'm waiting with bated breath!

When the much-awaited 4th installment comes forth, I'll just review the synopses, if you don't mind. Just tell me the end game. No point wasting my time on nonsense.

I liked it.2010-09-034 / 5
My only complaint is right when something interesting was going on with Eragon you flip the page and the next chapter is on Roran. Besides that I didn't think it was to bad. Some say it is very violent and to that I said good.

Paolini does it so well2010-08-315 / 5
The Inheritance series is just excellent reading. Amazing to think the author is so young! My only issue is that it takes so long to get the next book written so I can continue immersing myself in the saga. Great job!

absolutely awesome!!!2010-08-275 / 5
i loved brisingr way more than eragon or eldest because the was just so much going on. ive been through all of the reviews and i think that anyone who dares call this excellent installment boring doesnt have half a brain. i also gathered that its not going to be any short wait for book 4 which is very dissapointing. some people have been waiting since 2008 for pete's sake. if you are planning on writing a sieries then get on with it! it doesnt take 2 years to write a book! but im not saying that brisingr was any worse for it but i just wish paolini would get his act together

Epic read.2010-08-255 / 5
Christopher Paolini writes a remarkable continuation of the Inheritence Series. I couldn't put it down and I read straight through! Paolini hooks you in Eragon's world, and keeps you there. Brisingr is one of those books that you can't guess what's coming next, and you keep being surprised, part of what makes Brisingr so great! This keeps you guessing, and then you end up being wrong, and through out the entire book you essentially second guess yourself. You get insight into many more characters, all while following Eragon and Saphira. While this is a great book, Eragon does get a bit annoying after awhile, both in his actions and thoughts. He just acts so dumb at times. Also in the fact that Eragon is always after Arya so to say, and that he has a kind of big ego at times. Throughout Brisingr, you're introduced to many new characters and are always captured in the on going plot of Brisingr. The ending sure leaves you waiting for the 4th installment in the Inheritance Series, which in my opinion can not come fast enough. Overall though, it's a great read, and I strongly recommend it!
